Check Twice

Terms of service

Last updated:

These terms apply when you use Check Twice, in the app or in a browser. Check Twice is made and operated by FusedFrames Technologies Ltd (“FusedFrames”, “we”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17097980, with its registered office at 23 King Street, Suite 191, Cambridge CB1 1AH, United Kingdom. By using Check Twice you agree to these terms.

What Check Twice does

Check Twice lets people show who they are, using checks of photo ID, a live face and a phone number, and shows the person who asked what those checks found.

No identity check is perfect. Checks can be wrong, and a determined person may deceive them. A result shows the evidence our checks found at that moment. It is not a guarantee of who someone is, and you decide what to do with it, including whether to send money or share information.

Who can use it

  • You must be 18 or over and live in the UK, Europe, the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Check Twice isn’t offered in Québec yet.
  • Verify only yourself, with your own ID, face and phone number.
  • Keep your phone secure. You are responsible for what is done with your account.

How you may use it

  • Only ask someone to prove who they are when you have a genuine reason to.
  • If someone shows you their face photo or full name, use it only to check it’s really them. Do not copy it, keep it or share it.
  • Do not use Check Twice to harass anyone, to find out who someone is without their agreement or to deceive anyone, and do not use it through automated means.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

The service

Check Twice is free. We may change it, or stop providing it, at any time. It is provided as it is and as available, without any promise that it will always work or always be right.

Our responsibility to you

We are not responsible for any loss caused by someone deceiving you or our checks, by a decision you make using a result or by anything outside our reasonable control.

Otherwise, our total responsibility to you for anything connected with Check Twice is limited to £100.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer, including those under the Australian Consumer Law and New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account, then Delete account). These terms continue to apply to anything that happened before.

Changes and the law

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app first, and if you don’t agree you can delete your account before it applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also use your local courts. If you live in Canada, Australia or New Zealand, the consumer and privacy laws where you live also apply, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
